Indra Nooyi was born on October 28, 1955, in Chennai, India. Raised in a conservative but supportive South Indian family, she excelled academically and pursued a science degree at Madras Christian College. She earned her PGDM at IIM Calcutta, one of India’s top business schools.

Driven to learn globally, she moved to the United States to study at Yale School of Management, where she focused on strategy. Her career spanned roles at Johnson & Johnson, Boston Consulting Group, Motorola, and Asea Brown Boveri.

In 1994, she joined PepsiCo and rapidly rose through the ranks. In 2006, she became CEO—the first woman of color to lead a Fortune 50 company. Under her leadership, PepsiCo focused on healthier products, sustainability, and long-term strategic planning.
