Biography Details

Divya Dutta (born September 25, 1977, in Ludhiana, Punjab) is a versatile Indian actress known for powerful supporting roles in Hindi and Punjabi cinema. Raised single-handedly by her mother, Dr. Nalini Dutta (a doctor and government officer), after her father's death when she was seven, she debuted in 1994 with Ishq Mein Jeena Ishq Mein Marna.

She gained acclaim for Veer-Zaara (2004), earning Filmfare and Zee Cine nominations, and won a National Film Award for Irada (2018). Her career spans over 100 films/series, including Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, Special OPS, Chhaava (2025), and OTT projects. Unmarried, she authored Me and Ma (memoir on her mother). A motivational speaker and travel enthusiast, she remains active in films and writing. At 48, she continues selective projects with acclaimed performances.

  • February 2026: Divya featured in Netflix India's 2026 slate announcement, starring in Neeraj Pandey's thriller Ghooskhor Pandat alongside Manoj Bajpayee, Nushrratt Bharuccha, Saqib Saleem, and Akshay Oberoi (directed by Ritesh Shah).
  •
  • January 2026: She shared exclusive insights with Pinkvilla on upcoming projects: a mature love story with Jimmy Shergill (post-Sikandar Ka Muqaddar), a film with Neeraj Kabi (premiered at 82nd Venice Film Festival or similar), a Bengali director's postcard-like project, and OTT show Chiraiya. She stated, "I have practically done everything."
  •
  • Ongoing: Active on Instagram promoting travels, motivational content, and poetry sessions (e.g., with Gulzar at Jashn-e-Rekhta). No major controversies; focus on OTT/film balance and singlehood reflections ("marriage no longer priority"). Recent releases include Chhaava (2025) and Bandish Bandits Season 2 (late 2025/2026).
