Kirron Kher (born Kiran Thakar Singh Sandhu on June 14, 1952, in Bangalore) is a veteran Indian actress, TV personality, and former politician from a Jatt Sikh family in Chandigarh. Trained in theater at Panjab University, she debuted in Punjabi films (1983) and took a long hiatus for family after marrying Anupam Kher (1985; second marriage).

 

She returned with acclaim in Sardari Begum (1996; National Special Jury Award) and excelled in supporting roles (Devdas, Rang De Basanti).
