Nandita Das (born November 7, 1969, in New Delhi) is an acclaimed Indian actress, director, and activist. Daughter of Odia writer Himanshu Das, she debuted in Deepa Mehta’s Fire (1996) and gained international fame with Earth (1998), Khamosh Pani (2003), and Firaaq (2008 – her directorial debut).
