Rishi Kapoor (September 4, 1952 – April 30, 2020) was a legendary Indian actor, director, and producer from the iconic Kapoor family. Son of Raj Kapoor, he debuted as a child in Mera Naam Joker (1970) and became a romantic icon with Bobby (1973), earning instant stardom. Over five decades, he starred in classics like Amar Akbar Anthony, Karz, Saagar, and opposite Neetu Singh in 12 films after their 1980 marriage.

 

He transitioned to powerful supporting roles in later years (Agneepath, Kapoor & Sons). Rishi directed Aa Ab Laut Chalen (1999) and authored his memoir. Diagnosed with leukemia in 2018, he passed away in Mumbai at 67. Father to actor Ranbir Kapoor and daughter Riddhima, his charm, wit, and versatility left an indelible mark on Bollywood, celebrated through family tributes and legacy revivals in 2026.
